Connecting trade in agriculture and aquaculture between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises

Within the framework of the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2023 – Vietnam Foodexpo 2023, under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Trade Promotion Agency directly organized the event at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City. The Trade Promotion Agency cooperated with the Commercial Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in China, and the Department of Commerce of Quzhou Province (China) to organize the Trade Promotion and Business Connection Conference between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises in the agriculture and aquaculture sectors on the afternoon of November 22, 2023.

The conference aimed to facilitate Vietnamese enterprises in connecting and trading with over 50 Chinese enterprises in the fields of agriculture, aquaculture, packaging, and food processing, especially those from Quzhou Province, China.

This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to promote and introduce agricultural products, fruits, and processed foods to Chinese enterprises and importers, thereby promoting the export of Vietnamese agricultural and aquaculture products to China through official channels. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to attract Chinese enterprises in the food processing and agricultural sectors to research and invest in production in Vietnam.

Mr. Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), spoke at the event.

During the conference, representatives of the Trade Promotion Agency introduced the potential, advantages, and opportunities for trade and investment cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises, especially in the fields of agriculture, aquaculture, and food processing.

The leadership of the Trade Promotion Agency emphasized: In the context of significant complementarity between the economies of the two countries, Vietnamese enterprises need to seize opportunities to enhance cooperation with Chinese enterprises to effectively exploit mutual complementarity, thereby promoting stable and sustainable business cooperation and contributing to elevating the Vietnam-China economic and trade cooperation to new heights.

In his remarks, the Commercial Counselor of Vietnam in China shared about the role and importance of agricultural trade in the overall Vietnam-China economic and trade cooperation and also provided very useful and specific recommendations to guide Vietnamese exporters of agricultural and aquaculture products to access and efficiently exploit the potential and demand for imported goods of localities and Chinese enterprises.

Representatives from Quzhou Province's Department of Commerce also introduced the advantages and cooperation needs of Quzhou Province in the fields of agriculture and food and expressed the desire to enhance coordination with the Trade Promotion Agency and relevant Vietnamese agencies to organize trade promotion and investment promotion activities to support enterprises from both sides in long-term connectivity and cooperation.

In parallel with the conference, the Organizing Committee also organized a business matchmaking program between Vietnamese enterprises and Chinese enterprises and importers in the fields of agriculture, aquaculture, and food in China. Through this networking and exchange, enterprises from both countries have the opportunity to better understand each other's export and import needs, identify potential partners, and thereby develop suitable and effective production and business plans.
